Kerold Redwhiskers is a Frog in Ghost of a Tale. He was the navigator of the Lake Witch before he was imprisoned in Dwindling Heights Keep for piracy. He is completely out of his mind, for quite a variety of reasons, including drinking bad rotgut, habitually chewing poisonous holly berries to dye his beard, and the memories of what he saw on the island of Periclave.
History[]
Kerold was once the boatswain for the Volute, operating out of Port Scarn. He claims that they once came across a ghost ship on the open lake, and the Captain asked him to go aboard alone. He gathered all the valuables he could find, and when he returned, his ship was gone.
Much later, he met Captain Otto Powderkeg and the two sailed the Lake Witch until they were arrested for piracy and imprisoned in a cell and fastened in a wooden pillory. He claims that Otto was the one who ate his leg, which was then replaced with a wooden peg.
