King Rodrik the Third, also known as the Coward King, was the last king of the Rats. When the Ferrets threatened to invade his kingdom, he fled on the eve of battle. His ship wrecked mysteriously, however, he was killed, and the Stone of Ascension was lost, leading to the creation of the Council of the Red Paw.
It is eventually revealed that Rodrik had a wife named Bryndis and is the father of Silas, who took something from the tomb of one of the Wardens of the Green Flame and left one of the rings of the Rat kings in its place, promising to return it one day.
